Reflexology
Reflexology is a science that deals with the principle that there are reflex points in the feet that correspond to all of the glands, organs, and parts of the body. Stimulation of these points eliminates the blockage of energy responsible for pain or symptoms in the corresponding part of the body. Reflexology assists the body to return to a healthy balance of homeostasis; a state of balance and optimum health.
Reflexology can address anything from headaches to sinus problems to stomach issues. If sensitivity or tenderness is experienced when an area is stimulated, it indicates weaknesses or imbalances within the corresponding part of the body. With repeated pressure and manipulation of nerve endings, reflexology can help to clear any channels of blocked energy. This ultimately improves overall health and balance.

What to Expect
A reflexology session begins with the practitioner conducting a brief health history and explaining how reflexology works and what happens during a session. You will relax in a reclining position, remaining fully clothed except for your shoes and socks. By working all points on the feet, the reflexologist addresses internal organs and glands as well as muscle groups, bones, nerves and nerve plexuses. Generally a session lasts between 30-60 minutes. You can rest or talk during the session at your discretion with feedback encouraged. The number of sessions varies and is determined by the client’s health and reasons for seeking reflexology. In general, results from reflexology are often subtle and are cumulative. Thus, you are more likely to see greater benefits from regular sessions. If you are dealing with a specific illness or condition, you may need to have more frequent sessions.
